I was just curious; would having some bricks end almost directly on the edge cause some seams if you ever scale the texture down as apposed to the edge being over the middle of the bricks?
Sometimes engines render the edges of a texture all that well so I see it becoming problematic if the seam isn't over a more neutral area.
I have seen a number of hand-painted textures where gaps and other thin lines end near the borders, but now I'll be looking for this in every texture I see from now on haha. I imagine a lot of hand-painted textures are small enough to not require mipmapping, but that is a good question for me to look into. I'll follow up if I find anything definitive.
